Intuitive, high-quality and fun.
Reviewed by James. Review Posted 29/12/2007

Being able to draw on the screen is more intuitive and accurate than I imagined it could be. The screen is crisp with a fast response time. It connects to the PC easily and has a nice, long cable. With all the Intuos range’s goodies thrown in, too.

There aren't any negatives per se, but there are some things you may want to take note of;

- The surface is very smooth. This is not a bad thing, but people more used to drawing on paper may miss the friction. Personally, it didn't bother me.

- The LED that acknowledges a pen press seems brighter than past Wacom tablets - it can be a little distracting while working in low light conditions.

- There's a slight offset (that you can easily set it to compensate for) between where you press and where the cursor is. It can be a little odd at first - the effect becomes noticeable at the screen edges - but you will quickly adjust.

It's pricey for amateurs, no doubt, but if you're a professional it may well be worth every penny.

Paper goes digital
Reviewed by Razzie Mbessai. Review Posted 08/05/2008

Absolutely amazing piece of kit - it really is digital paper!

Everything is included, with surprisingly clear instructions - I was up and running within an hour.

It's only about 2.5Kg and less than an inch thick so I've had it on my desk, on my knee and in my hand, just like an A3 sketchbook. I was always comfortable and it DIDN'T get hot, even after five hours use!

The pen draws with no delay whatsoever unless I'm sketching REALLY fast, and the monitor is crisp and bright through its protective layer.

Non-drawing activities like selecting layers, choosing brushes and moving windows are equally responsive, and a really nice touch is the eraser on the end of the pen.

The only negative is the high price, I appreciate it's a top-end product it still seems overpriced.

Altogether I'm delighted with the Cintiq and BT Shop - despite ordering on a Bank Holiday Monday it arrived less than 48 hours later!
