Connect a DVI-D and a VGA Monitor simultaneously to a single DVI-I video source. The DVIVGAYMM6 6-foot DVI-I (male) to DVI-D (male) and HD15 VGA (male) video splitter cable lets you connect a DVI-D monitor as well as a VGA monitor to a single DVI-I video card port.

The ability to drive both a digital and an analog monitor simultaneously depends on the capabilities of your video card. If your video card does not support this function, only one display will work at a time.

1* Must be supported by graphics card
Reviewed by Jeroen on 02/03/2009
I tried this splitter to connect three monitors to one graphics card (nvidia 8800GS), of which I needed 2 to be clones and the 3rd one an extended desktop.

The 1st problem was that this splitter completely replaces the monitor cables, while one of my monitors had the monitor cable fixed to the monitor. This required me to use a male-to-male adapter to connect the splitter cable to the respective monitor cable.

The 2nd problem was that this splitter doesn't copy one output, but adds a second to the same graphics card connection. The graphics card should see both monitors separately. The Startech website contains the following note about this, which I should have read before I bought:
"Note: the ability to drive both a digital and an analog monitor simultaneously depends on the capabilities of your video card. If your video card does not support this function, only one display will work at a time"
This is exactly what happened. I now simply use a second graphics card.
