Seagate Central 3TB poor quality
Reviewed by Mick. Review Posted 28/09/2015

In use for less than 1 month and the network connection has failed. Green LED ON but windows shows no access to the device. Checked the (very poor)Seagate web site which advises to "Turn it off and on again" (like something from the IT crowd). This totally finished it off as after its very slow start up process the LED now briefly shows green and then goes to RED showing it cannot access your network and so you cannot access your data. The one remaining option is to try a direct connection to the PC which I have yet to try. A quick check on the internet shows numerous others with this fault and apparently the HDD is formatted with an ext file system (Linux)that cannot be read by windows to recover your data even if you could get at the HDD.
Also found you cannot access the remote account you set up working locally on your PC even though you set it up from that PC.
I brought this to save time but now have this to sort out. Will steer clear of this type of Seagate device in future.
