Worked fine in desktop
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 13/03/2013

Bought this to mount a new SSD for my desktop pc. Holes on the base fitted the SSD, holes on the side fitted my 3.5" hard drive bays. Worked fine for me. Can't comment on NAS or other fittings, but for a standard desktop build it does the job

So near and yet so far
Reviewed by Ken Green. Review Posted 13/02/2014

I bought a couple of these as the Sandberg version (quick link 8V0YWS00) didn't do quite what I needed, it doesn't present the connectors at the same place a 3.5" disk does. Looking at the pictures of this OCZ one I could see the 2.5" mech was offset to the side, do I assumed they done it to match a normal 3.5" disk. Well they haven't, they are about 1mm out, how stupid is that!
Then add the fact that the mounting holes match the rear and middle disk mounting holes of a 3.5" disk, the bracket is too short to get to the front holes. Most PCs and all servers I've used use the front and back holes, so it does mount properly.
Lastly they've not used the standard screw threads, so you have to use the screws provided with the bracket and not the ones from your server. Yes this is a big deal, because the one server I've got that uses flying cables for power and SATA, so can cope with the misalignment problem uses special screws that slot into mounting rails.

Doesn't actually fit a 3.5" bay(!?)
Reviewed by Adam Coates. Review Posted 21/11/2012

This bracket should perform a really simple task but doesn't manage it.

The adaptor should be the size of a 3.5" HDD bay and have mounting positions for a 2.5" HDD.

Unfortunately this bracket only has a single mounting position for the 2.5" drive, which could be a problem if you don't have much cable length, or in the case of my NAS RAID meant it couldn't fit with the fixed SATA connector. Also it physically isn't big enough to attach to the standard hole positions on a 3.5" drive which meant it wouldn't do duty in an iMac either.

YMMV.
