5* Great product

Worked right out of the box. Wireless coverage is excellent and performance superb. Above all else, the wired switch performance and LAN to WAN speeds are second to none, it is amazingly fast. Setup is nice and simple, with no need to install the provided disk. It runs and looks extremely cool indeed! I particularly like the way you can set it to check for firmware updates and it will handle them all by itself with barely any need for your intervention. The interface is beautifully worked out. This is a superb "next generation" product.
5* Excellent...

A bit pricey when you compare it to some other routers, but the old adage you get what you pay for applies.

Dual band ABGN, all channels work flawlessly and the Wireless speed is notably higher than the old router it replaced.

Works flawlessly with the new Xbox360 Wireless N Adapter too.

Excellent; Well designed and configurable Dual Band Router.
A worthy investment.
5* Three Years Later

This is still one of the best routers you can buy. I have no idea why Netgear state that this is for cable users either, since it works with any type of broadband, as long as you have a separate modem. I have used this with cable, ADSL and now use it with VDSL. It's still a fantastic router, and I have no plans to change it!
5* After Thoughts

Having lived with the product for a few weeks, I just wanted to add that the love affair continues! The wireless operation has been faultless, the wired is staggering. We can transfer 1GByte files from PC to PC in ten seconds!! This is true 1Gbps performance! The WAN performance is equally stunning and far exceeds the performance of the cable service we have. Wow! This is a great product.
5* Works with Virgin Media 120Mbps cable service
Reviewed by Dean on 15/09/2013
I needed a WiFi router that used Gigabit Ethernet to connect to my Virgin Media superhub to use the 120Mbps download service so I chose this NetGear router.

Wired Internet speedtest was about 90Mbps download, 10Mbps upload with the superhub set to be a modem (if you use the superhub as a router then that reduced the download to about 60Mbps)

It is no longer the fastest WiFi router on the market but it cost about £90. Previously, I had a Linksys router that died after 13 months usage and it cost about £130. So I have learnt a lesson to try not to spend over £100 on a router that could die in the near future.

The router has a web server to allow you to setup the router via a browser. I upgraded the firmware via the browser, that was straight forward as the router finds the new firmware and installs it automagically. The old firmware was out-of-date by many months.

This router has no "cloud" services which is a good thing.

WiFi seems to work adequately between floors.
