I needed USB headset for my laptop and this was the cheapest I could find. However the quality is superb and it does work flawlessly both with Vista and my Ubuntu linux which makes me more than happy with this product.
Used it yesterday for a 1 hour Skype chat through my new laptop. Windows 7 found the drivers straightaway. Good quality, quite comfortable and easy to use.
Really pleased with this headset!
Inexpencive - Great audio quality and great mic!
Would highly reccomend!
I had to do some homework because BT use to non-Windows users is very lacking. The spec sheet on the manufacturers website claims it works with Windows, OSX and Linux. It works like a charm on Linux.
The sound is fine, build quality is fine, but my only concern in the microphone bendy steel wire; it's solidly built but it's not easy to flip it up for storage then down the exact same position next time; which means you have to do sound checks each time to make sure the volume is right.
Apart from that, it's a great USB mic and headset and fantastic value for money.
An excellent product considering the price. The unit I received differed slightly from the unit pictured, it appears the Mic mount has been made to a higher quality and the in-line controls are much more aesthetically pleasing than the one pictured. It did take 2 hours to get working properly in Linux Mint, however I think this is more a problem with PulseAudio as the main difficulty was getting it up and running in TeamSpeak3. Audio quality is perfect for voice, perfectly reasonable for music at moderate volumes. At higher volumes the audio suffers some distortion but at less than £10 you can hardly complain. An unusual aspect of the audio is that the balance is offset by about 13% to the left earphone. Fixed easily in OS audio config but may be an issue for the less technically minded.
Despite hours of effort, I have been unable to get the microphone to work. Product came with no instructions, which didn't help.
Speakers OK though.
I purchased one of these headsets 6 months ago and it was excellent. I recently puchased a second one which was of a slightly different appearance, although still labelled Dynamode. The second one is abysmal, tinny sound, not of merchantable quality. Beware !
