Standard Due date unavailable

The D-Link DNS-320 ShareCenterTM Pulse is a 2-bay Network Attached Storage (NAS) device with backup and media features that make it ideal for storing and sharing photos, music, movies and work files on a home network.

Safely share digital files locally and over the Internet

The ShareCenterTM Pulse Network Storage device enables users to share documents and media content such as photos, music and videos on a home network or over the Internet. File access is easy and straightforward with the built-in web file server, which allows users to browse and download stored files over the Internet. The more technical user can manage the contents of their ShareCenterTM Pulse from any FTP client.

Stream Digital Media Content with the built-in Media Server

The built-in UPnP media server will stream the media content on your ShareCenterTM Pulse to any compatible media player -such as the PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and D-Link Boxee Box- over your local network. The ShareCenterTM Pulse allows for multiple simultaneous streams, so you can watch a movie on your entertainment centre while someone else listens to music streamed over their computer.

Performance, protection and confidentiality

The ShareCenterTM Pulse has a Gigabit port for the fastest connectivity possible to your home network through your router. RAID 1 technology ensures that your valuable data will not be lost by mirroring the contents of one hard drive onto the other, so if one drive fails, your data is still safe. The confidentiality and integrity of all your files is guaranteed as you can give rights to specific users or groups and assign them to folders with read/write permissions. This function is ideal for the home, where children's access can be restricted to only age-appropriate materials, while ensuring that nobody can delete your files by accident.

D-Link Green™

The DNS-320 ShareCenterTM Pulse is part of D-Link GreenTM, D-Link's programme for providing eco-friendly alternatives without compromising performance: if the hard drives are not used in a configurable period of time, or data is not being transmitted, the SharecenterTM Pulse will enter stand-by mode to save power. Also, the silent fan will adapt its speed depending on the hard drives temperature

5* D-Link ShareCenter Pulse 2-bay NAS
Reviewed by Tom on 21/12/2010
Really great value NAS. Tiny footprint, near silent. Works perfectly. The documentation is pretty poorly written but I managed to figure everything out (the browser based configuration pages are fairly straightforward). Performace is excellent, just drop in some SATA drives, hook up to a router, map the drives and go. Also works brilliantly as a UPNP media server and an Itunes server. Currently sitting as the 3TB store for my house-wide network of XBMC machines and working perfectly.
5* Nifty little box - packed with goodies
Reviewed by Martin on 07/01/2011
This is much smaller than it looks, taking up the same desk real estate as a few hardbacks.

Installing the drives is a bit fraught as you're never really sure whether it's mounted until you switch the box on and the drive indicator light comes on.

Setup takes a bit of time, formatting the drives etc. and if planning to make use of all the nice features (torrent dowloading/remote admin/FTP) there are a few port-forwarding rules to be setup. Not easy if you don't have a basic understanding of what you're doing.
The instruction manual is thin and the online help doesn't go into a lot of depth but trial and error should get you there with some perseverance.
If you have a lot of data to load, expect this to take a while if you're copying it over the network.
I've spent a fair bit of time searching for something that ticks all my boxes (RAID/remote access/torrent support) at a good price and I'm delighted with the DNS-320. A must-have for the serious home-user on a budget!
5* D-Link Share centre
Reviewed by Andrew on 17/05/2011
Ordered this last week. Arrived promptly after the weekend. Dropped in a 2TB drive followed the quick start instructions and away i awent. Lodaded up my Windows 7 media centre libray to this drive and watched video from the share centre on another pc. Easy to set up. Probably got more features than i need but works just fine.
4* Awesome Home server solution
Reviewed by Eddy Jawed on 19/02/2012
Brought this to share files around the house, and I was very impressed the ease in connecting this to get it to work. Although I had A VERY HARD TIME figuring out that the black bit of plastic on the front panel is the main power button and not a display feature, the rest was easy. I just plugged in an ethernet cable to the wireless router, put the power cable in and switched it on. Then using the disk provided I ran it in all my PC's. The NAS server was spotted straight away and i just connected to it, followed through the wizard and finally formatted the disks inside the NAS and it was like a massive 2TB backup extension to network of PC's round the house. I EVEN CONNECTED MY IPHONE TO IT!

My only snag, when running through the set-up wizard, the program kept crashing whilst formatting the 2 disks on the NAS, but I persevered with the formatting and after clicking continue a few times finally got through, hence the 4 star rating. Still great value small network solution!
4* Media Server? Read this

The drive works very well. The wizard is great - although you might have to Google some terms to know what they mean.

I dropped 2 Samsung F4 2TB drives in, and it works perfectly - nice small unit, sleeps when you're not using, wakes when you access it. Quiet as well - the Fan kicks in sometimes but thats still not too loud.

MEDIA SERVER: This is my main use of the NAS unit, as a media server to my XBox 360. This works great with one caveat: it cannot handle file paths greater than 81 characters. This is a real pain for me; I've had to restructure and shorten the names of many of my files due to this limitation. I have looked for a fix out there, but as of yet have not found one.

Other than the above caveat, everything else is perfect with this device.
4* Nice but noisy
Reviewed by Stuart on 12/07/2013
I've had this for quite a while and recently moved to a new flat and placed the NAS next to my VM hub behind the TV. Fine. However, when the thing gets warm the cooling fan comes on and it isn't quiet. But, to solve this annoyance, I got a "Fractal Silent Series R2" 40mm fan (about £6 from eBay) and fitted that. Now the only thing I can hear is the sound of the disks spinning which is hardly noticeable and never hear the cooling fan.
