I purchased this dlink nas box within one hour I had the nas box up and running also did the firmware upgrade aswell. After downloading the software from dlink and iPad iPhone apply a working very quick upload and read write to the base I would give it 10/10 I would recommend that you make sure that you register your product with dlink 1st then. One you use the software utility to format your drive etc its very east to set up.
4* DNS 320L

Bought to store media and backups. Inserted 1x2TB and 1x1TB drives. I opted for a standard array rather than RAID/JBOD and transfer speeds are 40-50Mbs over a 1Gb connection.

The setup on windows 7 is easy. The NAS interface is basic but what do you expect for £39.99. If you want a media server that can transcode then you will need to look elsewhere this is a basic UPNP DLNA server. I knew this before I bought it. I have sufficient horsepower in my client machines to direct stream all media so this was not an issue.

One of my client machines is running windows 10 and you will need to use the correct naming convention when mapping your NAS eg: //DLINK-1234/Volume1.

I am perfectly happy with my purchase it turns on and off as set in the power management settings and is available to all devices on my network.

I am not interested in accessing the NAS outside of my network but can confirm it works but is a little clunky.

If you want a basic NAS look no further.

I bought this device to plug into my network, to be accessed by my two Apple Macs, as well as access at work and abroad. From opening the box and plugging the unit in as per instructions I found it is not easy to setup. My iMac did not recognise it at all, neither did my crummy old IBM windows laptop. After five days of trying different things with the device, OSX settings, and modem settings I had to phone D-Link. Thankfully after trying some ways of connecting to it we made progress in getting the windows machine to see the device, but even then it took several attempts to run through the install application as it kept crashing. Also, you have to run through the install application as D-Link told me its the only way to register for My D-link online access portal (which doesn't work for me on OSX). Also, you have to setup a DDNS which it doesn't tell you how to do.

Now that I have the machine up and running it works well but I wouldn't recommend the device!
3* Far From Perfect

After some struggles I managed to get this working and accessible to all PCs on our home network. It's probably the cheapest way to get an NAS system up and running and has now achieved several months of reliable service.
However, internet access is a very different story. My phone uses Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and there seems to be no version of the app (mydlink Access-NAS) that I can use. My nexus tablet runs 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and the app installs fine but crashes every time I run it. Looking at the play store reviews its clear that this is very common. In fact, based on these reviews, if you wish to access your storage from an android device, your chances of success probably only about 50-50!
