Great PSU, looks cool and has nice bottom mounted fan. The cable 'sheathing?' is kind of see-through so you can see the cable colors underneath unfortunately.
Plenty of cables for pretty much everything and easy to install.
It's only £6 less than it's modular counterpart though and the cables that you don't use are kind of a nuisance.
I paid £70 for this power supply down my local high street simply because I did not have the patience to wait for delivery. I have now purchased the next model up still for cheaper than I paid on the high street, so you are getting an excellent bargain to say the least. I brought one power supply that would not even work my graphics card and yet this made it a lot easier to get the graphics card up and running. This is one serious bad boy and I would recommended and use it without any hesitation. It really does have the power and cables that you need to have a decent system up and running quickly.
Oops go it wrong on my first review.Found the problem and it was not a PSU fault. Senior moment I think or check and recheck all the wires are on the motherboard. So I have now reviewed it with a better overall score
Great product. I was nervous about buying the wrong product and about whether I'd be competent to replace my original PSU. I hoped there might be an idiots' guide as to which leads plug in where. There wasn't, but by taking note of the leads I removed and their connectors, plus some Internet searching, I worked it out and it has solved the problems I was having with my Dell Studio XPS 435mt. All the additional connectors will satisfy those looking to add new hardware, but that's definitely beyond me. Great service from BT.com.
Bought 2 of these units for new build computers. Easy to install, multiple connectors and very quiet in operation. However, one psu failed after 3 months - acrid fumes from unit, (possibly it's fan stopped working). With a shipping cost of £31 to return it to Corsair for assessment (which is what BT requires) it hardly seems worth the bother.
Have bought another as replacement, so will see how that goes!
After reading many reviews on lot of sites I decided I would go for this make of PSU.
Maybe I've been unlucky but I fitted the PSU to the case and components turned on the mains power and absolutely nothing happened DOE.So it's back to Dabbs for a refund (can't wait for 10 to 14 days for replacement). Back to reading more reviews? Also when I get the next PSU I will test it before fitting it in the case
