Arrived today. Set it up in minutes, no need for open reach white box so less cables and clutter! My wireless signal wasn't reaching all the rooms in the house, well it is now!! I always connected my mac to a wired connection for faster speeds, no need now!! The wi-fi speed it just as fast as my old ethernet/wired connection- 55mbps download and 15mbps upload. Renewed my contract with BT and got Home Hub 5 FREE!! Best internet service provider in the UK by far. Really pleased, well done BT.

5* Better than the Home Hub 4

I bought the Home Hub 5 to replace my Home Hub 4. The HH4 had an irritating fault that others seemed to have found when I searched the Internet, but BT Customer Services refused to acknowledge. Periodically, the HH4 would be rebooted remotely by a BT server. When this happened, the 2.4 GHz wireless stopped working. The only way to get it back was to reset to the factory defaults and then waste 15 minutes reconfiguring all my personal settings back into the router. After several months with the HH5, so far there have been no problems. The HH5 also eliminates the need for a separate modem, which is a bonus.
5* Apple Time Machine

Upgraded because of the faster wireless speeds that had meant doing an Apple Time machine took days and wasn't disappointed. A full back up was achieved in under 48 hours on a n iMac which previously took 6 days. Top product. Well done BT

Ordered home hub 5 as really wanted a neater single box solution, what I ended up with was much more,be score to bt finally putting an end to needed a horrid white box! I don't have any equivalent to take advantage of the newest wireless standard so I wasn't expecting a change in wireless performance, but it's a huge difference my 60mbps+ internet connection is really being utilised and everything is loading instantaneously, well done BT great piece of kit, best hub yet, neater, faster, better looking, just plain awesome
5* The Best Yet.

This is BT's best hub yet. It is simple to set up it does exactly what BT says it will do. I have used all the BT Hubs from One through Five and this one is brilliant.

Recently upgraded to BT Infinity and was somewhat miffed with having to have the two boxes. Took a chance and ordered the Hub 5 since it implied I could do away with the Openreach supplied router. Since I was already using the Hub 4 I checked the power supplies of both units matched and simply substituted the Hub 5 for the 4.

Apart from having changing the security PIN on the various devices I use around the house everything is working as before if not better and no loss of signal strength throughout my house. Any use for the Hub 4 and the Openreach router which there was a way of re-cycling these apart from throwing them away as electrical waste. I give it top mark all round my only gripe being I wish it had been out when I upgraded!
