Unlike ordinary motherboards, ASUS TUF series motherboards are tested under extreme environmental conductions, above the already industry leading reliability test of ASUS. This is beyond the reach of standard motherboards, ensuring real toughness is achieved throughout the whole board rather than only components, setting a new standard for the motherboard industry. All TUF series motherboards must pass the ultra-critical operation environment tests inside chassis under both the low chamber room temperature of -10 degrees, and the high temperature with high humidity environment of 55 degrees at 90% humidity. This ensures stable operation can be achieved in any part of the world under the worst possible conditions.

8+2 Phase DIGI+ VRM (Digital VRM)

Unlike ordinary digital VRM designs, DIGI+ VRM combines the advantage of both the digital and analogue VRM design, delivering less switching delay while offering better accuracy at the same time. Delivering better permeability and less power loss, meaning less heat will be produced compared with the traditional digital VRM design. Furthermore, control options are available within both the BIOS and windows, allowing the users complete control.

TUF Components: TUF series motherboards consist of three key components

TUF Capacitor: Industry top graded Japanese capacitors approved by ISO and IEC/IECQ certified independent

Laboratories meet military standard. 2.5X more durable than ordinary Japan branded conductive polymer aluminium solid capacitors (also known as Solid Cap), and 1.67X more durable than the even the top graded polymer tantalum capacitor (also known as Hi-C Cap) under the same environment temperature.

TUF MOSFET: Industry top graded low RDS(On) MOSFET, approved by ISO and IEC/IECQ certified independent

Laboratories meet military standard. These MOSFETs deliver robust efficiency whilst also sustaining the ultra-critical thermal shock of between -65~150°C. The power solution is formed by four of this type of MOSFETs, delivering unbeatable performance as well as durability.

TUF Chokes: Industry top standard approved by ISO and IEC/IECQ certified independent laboratory to meet military standard.

TUF Chokes, also known as the "Alloy Choke", is a made of a compound of various types of metal instead standard iron, enables the support of up to a massive 40A of rated current, 25% higher than conventional component. Furthermore, the single piece packaging also eliminates the emission of vibration noise, delivering superb characteristics as well as durability under extreme conditions.

TUF Thermal Armour

The motherboard temperature is affected by both the heat generated by itself as well as its surrounding components, which often leads to potential stability risks and a shortened life of on-board components. The TUF Thermal Armour adopts the concepts of both "block" and "redirect" via the use of a specially designed air duct covering all critical parts of the motherboard, physically "blocking the hot air from the VGA card" and "redirects airflow towards the locations needing them", further improves the heat dissipation capability of the board under the same environment as is without.

TUF Thermal Radar

It is essential to keep the system temperature as low as possible for ultimate reliability and durability, it is in most cases impossible to do so effectively due to the limited number of temperature sensors available, which are only able to represent the temperature of one single location on the motherboard, the temperature of other parts is simply ignored, resulting in the potential risks of an unexpected system breakdown.

This is the concept behind the TUF Thermal Radar. With a total of up to 12 sets of thermal sensors around the most temperature critical locations surrounding the motherboard, this allows users to have a total picture of the thermal status of the entire board. The Thermal Armour, when used with only one single down draft CPU fan fitted on-board, can redirect the airflow towards the other heat critical parts with its unique shunt or baffle design. Furthermore, with the capability to allow the complete redefinition of the fan curve as well as being able to control the fan speed based on the selection of up to three different locations with the custom definition of the weighting of each of the three locations, making the fan control even more location specific, and more precise for the application of users.
