ooo a switch!

Good value switch (when i bought it, it cost well over £170!), with sturdy design.
No fan, passive cooling, so silent.
Runs hot to the touch tho, so I stuck a couple of P3 heatsinks on it.
Running 24/7 now for over 2 years with no problems or dead PSU yet.... (fingers crossed). Runs with lower ampage than the DS108, so can be hooked up to a UPS no probs.

Good little switch, but unreliable?

Bought three of these towards the end of 2002. Despite the apparently high build quality (solid-feeling metal case), one of them expired after 18 months. Good job they have a 5-year warranty!
However, that aside, they perform well, and are fanless, so silent in operation. The auto-sensing uplink is also a boon, but most similar devices seem to have this feature now. Not much else you can say about a switch - it does the job!
